Mississippi State students, faculty and alumni recognized by Creative Quarterly

Three students, two faculty members and four alumni from the College of Architecture, Art and Design at Mississippi State have works included in Creative Quarterly, a major art and design publication.

Creative Quarterly: The Journal of Art and Design (CQ), a magazine distributed worldwide, highlights graphic design, illustration photography and fine art work created by both students and esteemed professionals.

Allison Berler, a senior art and graphic design major, created a series of posters that received first place in CQ’s spring issue. Also in the latest issue are works by summa cum laude art and painting alumna Molly Howell, art and sculpture alumna Shelby Nichols and senior art and painting major Reagan Watts.

Senior art and fine arts major Katye Drew received second place in the Fine Art/Student category of CQ’s most recent issue. Jamie Burwell Mixon, a professor and art department graphic design coordinator, was named runner-up in the Graphic Design/Professional category.

In another recent issue, associate art professor Alexander Bostic won a CQ competition in the Fine Art/Professional category, while magna cum laude art and painting graduate Thomas McBroom finished second.
