Southwestern Christian University’s Creative Arts Department will hold a spring concert series starting Friday when local singer-songwriter Saige Cross takes the stage.

The concert series will feature a mix of SCU music faculty and local, up-and-coming artists. All proceeds from the series will benefit the creative arts scholarship fund for the Bethany, Oklahoma, university.

Cross, from Oklahoma City, recently debuted his first album, which is entitled “Weather Balloon.” The Oklahoma Film and Music Office made him its music artist of the month in August 2015. His debut concert sold out, and he also recently opened for multi-state touring band, Seryn.

The Cross concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Collins Chapel. SCU students can enter free with valid ID. For others, tickets cost $10 and can be bought at the door or online.
