Southwestern Christian University (SCU) this week appointed Jessie Burpo as its new admissions director.

Burpo, who has held numerous leadership roles with the university in recent years, will be responsible for ensuring that incoming freshmen and transfer students have access to the best processes with regards to admission and enrollment.

“Jessie is a good fit for this position,” SCU President Reggies Wenyika said. “Her heart is for the university, and her passion for serving prospective students is evident."

Burpo graduated from SCU in 2010 with a business leadership degree and is completing course work for a masters of arts in theological studies. While at SCU, her positions have included being the executive assistant to the president, an admissions counselor, and director of alumni and church relations.

“We believe that Jessie is the perfect fit as our new Director of Admissions,” Brad Davis, vice president of student life at SCU, said. “She has served the university well in her seven years here, and given her past experience in the admissions office, understands the culture of SCU and knows the type of student that SCU wants to attract."
