South Dakota supports Hood Magazine’s Teacher of the Year Award

The University of South Dakota School of Education recently offered its support for the Hood Magazine Teacher of the Year Award, given to Hartford Elementary School's Pam Holloway.

Holloway teaches first grade in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, school. She was nominated by one of her students, Karson Olson. More than 60 students nominated their instructors for the award.

USD’s School of Education is designed to prepare students for programs in and out of the classroom. It has programs that are based on research as well as application, and the majority of its participants are counselors, educators, fitness professionals, leaders and sports professionals.

Both Olson and Holloway appeared on the KSFY-TV channel on Jan. 27. During the broadcast, Mark Baron , USD's associate dean in the School of Education, and assistant professor Karen Kindle gave Holloway a plaque to commemorate the achievement.
