Mississippi State University announced that its Maroon & Write Office will hold the Maroon Institute for Writing Excellence (MIWE) in May.

The MIWE is a three-week interactive workshop that introduces writing-to-learn strategies for classroom use. The program will allow participants to receive guidance in revising syllabi and creating relevant writing assignments.

Open to all full-time faculty members, the program will hold meetings from 1-3:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays from May 9-26. Participants will need to attend every session and complete all assigned readings and writings.

As a follow-up to the MIWE program, participants will need to incorporate a formal writing assignment into a class during the 2016-2017 academic year and submit final writing assignments for evaluation by the Maroon & Write staff.
