The University of Texas at Dallas was recently awarded a 2015 EDGE Award for its Northside commercial real estate project.

The award was given by the Richardson Economic Development Partnership, Richardson Chamber of Commerce and Richardson Rotary Club.

Northside, a $54 million mixed-used development, is on 13 acres just north of the UT Dallas campus across from Synergy Park Boulevard. The development is the first phase of a master plan that should include a DART station.

"It has been a team effort that has resulted in Northside achieving this milestone, and it is rewarding to be acknowledged by the Richardson Chamber and the city for the overall development of this destination location,” Calvin Jamison, UTD's vice president for administration, said. “UT Dallas is a strong economic engine for Richardson and North Texas, and we look forward to continuing to support the growth of our community.”

UT Dallas is one of 13 recipients of the 2015 EDGE Award.

“The Richardson Chamber of Commerce and the city of Richardson have been recognizing companies with EDGE awards for 30 years as a way of thanking them for their contributions to the local economy,” chamber President and CEO Bill Sproull said. “When companies make an investment in our community, and they are successful, we all benefit. We want these businesses to know how much we appreciate the impact they have on our city.”
