The Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts also was declared the fourth "Top Stop in the Pacific Northwest" by Venues Today and was ranked in the top 100 by Pollstar magazine for worldwide ticket sales.
In 2015, alone, the Morrison Center held 116 public performance which were attended by 118,874 patrons, with a profit of $6 million.
Morrison Center Executive Director James Patrick said he was pleased at the latest recognition.
"We are excited about continuing to reach new heights," Patrick said. "The founders of the Morrison Center wanted our venue to be known as ‘The People’s Theater."
Patrick said he hopes that more individuals from the area and the nearby states will soon visit the center and understand the mission they are trying to accomplish.
