The University of New Orleans' St. Claude Gallery will present two exhibits this month from Master of Fine Arts thesis projects, including sculpture, installation, print, painting and drawing pieces.

The St. Claude Gallery was established to showcase the work produced by the university's M.F.A. students and other various projects from around the region and community.

The two artists being featured at this spring's exhibition are David Colannino and Lizzie Agnes Derby.

Colannino's piece, "It's Always Better with a Good DM," is a multimedia cartographical and juvenile journey. Derby will be exhibiting, "Happy Trails."

Derby said that her piece "uses the attractive and repulsive qualities of hair to explore identity and sexuality through camp and an obsession with material."

Saturday from 6-9 p.m. guests will be able to attend the opening reception. The exhibition will then be open from noon to 5 p.m. weekends through May 8.
