North Central College will open its free Faculty Exhibition on Friday, featuring the latest artwork from 11 instructors.

“The faculty show provides an opportunity for students and the entire campus community to witness and engage in our current scholarship and artistic endeavors,” Christine Rabenold, associate professor of art and student art gallery director, said. “It’s exciting for me to see what others are working on as well as share a dialog with our students about our work and pursuits as professional artists outside the classroom.”

The exhibit is a dynamic, unique art display that connects artistic works that have been completed by the faculty throughout the last two years. The exhibit features sculptures, paintings, photographs, ceramics, videos, graphic designs and mixed media pieces. The themes vary from the human condition to nature.

Artists featured are Hale Eckinci, Tom Goodell, Ed Herbeck, Lydia Hwang, Frank Jackowiak, Scott Kolbe, Michelle Ludwig, Kate Pszotka, Christine Rabenold, Barry Skurkis and Kevin Valentine.

Friday's reception from 6-8 p.m. will include complimentary refreshments. The exhibit will run through May 29 in the Fine Arts Center's Schoenherr Gallery, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Gallery hours are available by calling 630-637-5375 or logging on to northcentralcollege.edu/show.
