“I am deeply honored to be recognized by my colleagues in the National Academy of Sciences," Bartel said. "It has been a privilege to do science with the amazing graduate students, postdocs and undergraduates who have worked with me at Rice over the years, and the support of my wonderful colleagues in the Department of BioSciences has made it possible.”
