NCAA names Iowa State's Leath to board of director

Iowa State University President Steven Leath has been named to the NCAA's Division I board of directors.

"I want to thank Dr. Leath for his willingness to serve the Big 12 membership and represent the conference on the council," NCAA Commissioner Bob Bowlsby said. "His understanding of the dynamics of intercollegiate athletics within the context of higher education and engagement on addressing its challenges will be amplified in this leadership position."

Leath will assume his new role on June 1.
