Palm Beach Atlantic University student Hunter Durham, who is entering his senior year, recently attained a coveted internship at Microsoft Corp.’s Latin American headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Durham, who has completed two other internship programs, found the Microsoft position through LinkedIn and was selected after an in-depth application and vetting process that included several interviews and presentations. According to Durham, his classes with Palm Beach Atlantic helped him land the position.

“That class was fully case-study based,” said Durham. “That really gave me real-world experience that allowed me to apply the strategies that I had been learning in my principles of marketing class to those sorts of scenarios…It’s really important nowadays not just to have the degree, but also to have some sort of experience to back it up.”

Durham is majoring in marketing in Palm Beach Atlantic’s Rinker School of Business and is a member of the school’s Frederick M. Supper Honors Program. In his time on campus, he has held internships with Red Bull and Dell and helped start the school’s student chapter of the American Marketing Association.
