Lamar announces Alumni Affairs Board for 2016-17

The Alumni Affairs Board of Lamar University has announced new members and shifts in leadership.

Alumni Advisory Board members serve terms of three years and assist the university’s Office of Alumni Affairs. 

New board members consist of former students representing graduation years spanning between 1969 and 2015:  Alan Hefty, class of 1969; Gary Hidalgo, class of 1971; Stephen Lee, class of 1989; Jeremy Roebuck, class of 1996; John Ceravolo, class of 1998; Surya Gade, class of 2001; Jennifer Turner Nichols, 2003; Mellie Proctor Bevilacqua, class of 2006; Chris Bates, class of 2008; Srinivas Palanki, classof 2015; and Ashley Pippins, class of 2015.

The board selected Ransom Jones, class of 1988, to serve as the board president for the 2016-17 school year. Tony Landry, class of 1994, will serve as president-elect and Carol Hebert, class of 1989, will serve as past president. Jones, Landry and Hebert previously served on the Alumni Affairs Board.    

Twenty-three board members will continue their terms.
