Tulane University recently promoted Jeff Schiffman, who has worked in the university’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions for more than a decade, to director of admissions.

“Jeff’s love for Tulane and New Orleans comes out in all of his interactions with visitors, counselors and prospective students and families,” Vice President of Enrollment Management Satyajit Dattagupta said. “As a tireless booster and ambassador, he will provide passionate leadership for the Admission team.”

Prior to his appointment to director of admissions, Schiffman was serving as Tulane’s director of international admissions. His new role will see him continue to pioneer digital strategies for prospective student engagement, including the popular Tulane Admission blog, university social media hub TruTU, and multimedia site real.tulane.edu.

“I am excited to step up as director of admission here at Tulane and continue to build on the strengths we’ve created in the office over the last decade,” Schiffman said. “One of my biggest passions is recruiting students. I love to get people passionate about Tulane and fired up about New Orleans.”

Schiffman is a graduate of Tulane himself, having earned his bachelor’s degree in 2005 and, more recently, his master’s of liberal arts. In addition to employing revolutionary digital methods, Schiffman tripled the number of international students in Tulane’s incoming freshman class over two years.
