The Men’s Glee Club at Miami University has recorded “Veiled Light,” which was released by Albany Records label on Aug. 1 for distribution nationally and internationally.

The release of “Veiled Light” marks the Men’s Glee Club’s first professional recording on a record label. It also marks the first time for any student ensemble at the university.

According to Jeremy Jones, conductor and assistant professor of music at Miami, Albany Records, which is devoted to uncommonly classical American music, label is “a perfect fit for us given that our disc features 12 American composers and five professional recording premieres.”

“Five works were specifically written for the Miami University Men’s Glee Club in its mission to promote and foster the creation and development of new choral works for male choir," Jones said. “To have a recording released on a prominent classical music record label was one of the goals I set for the group when I arrived at Miami. The recording was an amazing project that required dedication, desire, talent and patience from the students involved, and I am immensely proud of their work and continued progress together.”
