UT Dallas marketing team wins trade conference honors

Scoring seven top spots for their promotional work, UT Dallas marketing professionals won awards at the recent Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) annual regional conference for CASE District IV held in Dallas.

CASE is an international organization for professionals in alumni relations, marketing, communications and development, with District IV encompassing Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma as well as Texas.

The office of development and alumni relations earned a gold award for a crowdfunding platform; and a “Welcome Week” poster designed by Julie Spanos, marketing manager for UT Dallas’ student affairs division, won a silver award. The brightly colored promo piece illustrated campus events for the fall semester’s opening weeks.

“Student Affairs is proud to again be recognized by CASE for our marketing design work,” Jenni Huffenberger, the division’s senior director of marketing and student media, said. “I’m especially proud of Julie’s thoughtful approach to creating marketing materials that both engage and resonate with our students and of her collaborative, cheerful artistic style.”

The school’s communications office won a bronze award for its handling of the university’s Instagram account, and its manager Phil Roth also won a bronze for a news article. The development and alumni relations office also scooped a bronze for a biannual publication.

Marketing department creative director LeeDon Moore earned an honorable mention for magazine cover design. UT Dallas’ website, launched by graphic designer Julianne Fowler and software developer Dawn Berglund, also won an honorable mention.
