Forbes recently published lists of the best colleges for student outcomes and of alumni giving in the U.S., giving Transylvania University high national rankings in both categories.

For general return on investment, Transylvania was included in the top 10 percent of all colleges in the U.S. This means that the university has strong rates of post-graduate success, low student debt and graduate satisfaction.

“It is our answer to the debate over whether higher education is worth it: For these outstanding institutions, we give a resounding yes,” Forbes said.

In addition, Transylvania was in the top 4 percent of colleges that had strong graduate participation and graduate donation rates.

“The best colleges produce crop after crop of successful graduates that show their appreciation by giving back in the form of donations to their beloved alma mater,” Forbes said.

Rather than seeing these rankings as a sign to relax, Transylvania is working to guarantee that its graduates are successful. It has created the 100 Doors to Success mentorship program, matching alumni with students to share life knowledge.

“These rankings reinforce what we already know: Our strong liberal arts tradition provides students with not only the skills that employers value but also with an experience that will help them lead meaningful lives,” President Seamus Carey said.
