Faith (Rohn) Visconti, a former All-American volleyball
player at Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA), was recently recognized at the NCAA
Woman of the Year Awards dinner as one of the NCAA Woman of the Year Top 30
recipients.
When it was announced that Visconti had been named one of
the top 30 recipients in September, she became the first PBA athlete to ever be
selected. In 2015, she led the PBA volleyball team to the National Championship
as a senior and was the first selection at a AVCA All-American First Team in
the program’s history as well as the first CoSIDA Academic All-American. During
her career at PBA, she helped her team with the first NCAA South Region title
and finished with more than 1,600 kills.
The recipient of the Woman of the Year award is an
individual who exhibits excellence in academics, athletics, community service
and leadership.
Nine finalists were selected with three coming from each
division. Margot Guo from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was named
the Woman of the Year.
