The Blinn College Foundation will celebrate giving and philanthropy as part of the National Day of Giving on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

The Blinn College Foundation has planned this to try and offset Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

The National Day of Giving, which is also called #GivingTuesday, began in 2012. It was founded by the partnership of New York’s 92nd Street YMCA and the United Nations Foundation. Since its creation, it has grown to become a celebration of philanthropy and community service.

To help raise funds for this year’s event, the Blinn Foundation is asking alumni, community members and friends of Blinn College to make donations.

“The Blinn Foundation is proud to support Blinn College by providing funds for equipment, scholarships, and other resources that improve the student experience,” Blinn College Foundation Executive Director Susan Myers said. “We certainly hope that as we enter the season of philanthropy and giving, Blinn College’s many friends consider the ways they may wish to support our next generation of community leaders.”

Anyone who wants to make a donation to the Blinn College Foundation, which are accepted anytime before Nov. 29, can call 979-830-4017, text “Blinn” to 444999, or visit https://foundation.blinn.edu.
