In the upcoming Fall Commencement ceremony at the University of Arkansas, more than 1,200 students have made plans to attend the ceremony, in which over 1,800 students of the university will be graduating.

The ceremony, to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, will be held at the Bud Walton Arena. Doors have been announced to open at 7:30 a.m., and a pre-ceremony concert will be performed by the Boston Mountain Brassworks, a faculty brass quintet from the university, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Students are encouraged to arrive and be seated by 8:45 a.m. Though tickets are not a requirement, bags will be checked at the doors. Additionally, no balloons, wrapped packages or strollers will be permitted, and only compact umbrellas may be brought into the building.

The entrance for all guests will be through the south entrance of the arena. Free parking is available at any unrestricted parking lot on campus. Seating for disabled attendees can be found on the concourse level.

Graduating students must check into the west entrance of the arena beginning at 7:30 and be lined up by 8:30 a.m.

Graduating students are reminded to wear comfortable shoes, have pockets for small items, silence their phones and arrive early. They are encouraged to remember to wear all regalia: gown, cap, tassel, cords, stoles and hood, but to leave personal items with guests.

Additional information for both graduating students and guests can be found at the university website.
