Class on filmmaking with smartphones offered at SCF

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota will offer a course in smartphone filmmaking, according to a news release.

The three-hour college-credit course is aimed at those looking for information on filmmaking basics as they relate to smartphones. The course will cover learning how to create videos capable of sharing on the web or in-person, to forming the storytelling and execution of filming.

SCF claims that by the end of the semester, students will be confident in their abilities to create short-form video stories and be able to understand the process of structuring and producing a video. Students will also be taught how to impact the audience and make the video a full visual experience.

Prospective students must have video-capable mobile phones in order to take this course.
