Adults of any age have recently been invited to attend a month-long series of classes focusing on English author Jane Austen or the Bible at Simpson University for Seniors in Redding, California.
The classes, which begin Feb. 1, meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The "Jane Austen: Wit, Wisdom, and World" class, which runs from 10:20 a.m. to 11:20 a.m., focuses on three of the novelist's work, but will mostly be devoted to the classic, Pride and Prejudice.
The "Introduction to Biblical Archaeology" class, held from 11:30 to 12:30, will explore the geographic, historical and cultural context of the Bible through material remains from the Holy Land.
The $95 courses ($145 for couples) do not offer academic credit, but also don't require homework.
