Dallas series will look into your mind

A four-part lecture series on the human brain kicks off Feb. 7 at the Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas).

"The Brain: An Owner’s Guide" showcases neuroscience experts offering information on brain-related subjects ranging from the power of the teenage brain to the effects of and research into Alzheimer’s disease. This year mark's the 10th series sponsored by the Container Store in collaboration with the brain center.

“This lecture series is one of the greatest ways that we are able to interact with the community,” said brain center founder and Chief Director Dr. Sandra Bond Chapman. “Discoveries are being made at an exceptional pace. The opportunity for people to interact with the experts uncovering them is truly exciting. We are so grateful to the Container Store for making this possible.”

Beginning with Dr. Gregory Petsko's “Alzheimer’s: Conquering the Coming Epidemic,” the lectures will be presented every Tuesday in February. It includes Dr. Elliot Frohman’s “The Eye as a Window into the Brain of Neurodegenerative Disorders,” Dr. Adriana Galván’s “The Teenage Brain: Harnessing the Power of Change,” and Dr. Read Montague’s “Reading the Mind in the New World of Neuroscience.”

“We know that 'The Brain: An Owner’s Guide' lecture series will continue to educate and inspire our community, helping ignite passion for brain health and strengthen our strategic thinking skills and creative innovation whether in our personal or our professional lives,” Container Store CEO Melissa Reiff said.
