University of New Mexico names head of Alumni Association

Dana Allen was named vice president of Alumni Relations and executive director of the Alumni Association by University of New Mexico (UNM) on Oct. 30.

Allen formerly served as assistant vice president for Alumni Relations and executive director of the Alumni Association at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.

“It’s important for us to keep up momentum at this point, and Dana has an impressive record of professional achievement in similar circumstances,” said UNM President Robert Frank. “I think she will to do a great job enhancing the impact of UNM’s Alumni Association and connecting our students and the campus with alumni everywhere. It’s great to welcome a new Lobo to the pack.”

Allen is a graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. She will begin her role on Feb. 1, 2016.

Located in Albuquerque, the University of New Mexico has approximately 27,000 students. It was founded in 1889.
