Palm Beach Atlantic senior earns prestigious accounting internship

Palm Beach University Atlantic (PBAU) senior accounting major Ben Colabella was recently selected for a summer internship with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Colabella has initiated two businesses, one focusing on Internet marketing and a student-run mobile crepe business he started with a friend and international business major. Colabella said he was inspired to enter technology and search engine optimization during his teenage years when was repeatedly disappointed by the results of his Internet searches.

Colabella has already sold the crepe business to another PBAU student, and he also mentors other business students through a PBAU peer advising program that matches junior and senior business majors to share experience and advice with underclassmen. He also participates in business-oriented clubs including the Young Entrepeneurs Society and PBAU's marketing club.

Colabella will be gaining experience with one of the "Big Four" accounting and auditing firms in the U.S. The internship will be Colabella's second, following an experience last summer with Brown and Brown Insurance.

PBAU's business professors said success in internships at these firms can lead to job offers.
