Bryant University will provide a new financial planning undergraduate degree that has been registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board (CFP Board) of Standards Inc.

This new program, one of few of its kind in New England for undergraduates, seeks to equip students with strong leadership skills, qualities of character, and a diverse knowledge and skill set. The program will exist as a specialization option within the Financial Services concentration at the school and will consist of seven courses plus a required internship.

"We are excited to partner with the CFP Board of Standards to offer this highly coveted and dynamic program to our undergraduate students,” program coordinator Mara Derderian said. “Giving our students the ability to prepare for professional certification while still in school will provide an enormous competitive advantage as they enter the workplace. They will possess the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professionalism that employers value in the growing financial planning industry."

The CFP Board, an independent certifying organization, awards individuals who meet its guidelines that focus on education, experience and ethics.
