Philadelphia University appoints academic dean for School of Business Administration

Philadelphia University has appointed Monica Lam as academic dean of its School of Business Administration.

“I am excited to join Philadelphia University at this strategic time of expansion and enrichment,” Lam said. “I appreciate this great opportunity and look forward to working with faculty, students and others to build on School of Business Administration achievements and further advance academic programs and research opportunities to the next level.”

Lam has been a faculty and administration member at California State University-Sacramento for over two decades, serving in roles including professor of accounting and information systems, and associate dean for graduate and external programs in the College of Business Administration. 

Among her accomplishments as associate dean were helping to develop an international MBA program on the campus and in Singapore; creating a Business Graduate Career Center; and achieving the No. 2 ranking in U.S. News & World Report for graduate programs.

Lam will begin her position as academic dean at Philadelphia University's School of Business Administration on July 1.

“Dr. Lam will provide unique and additive skills to Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce, working with our leadership team and faculty and staff to develop a strong strategic growth plan for the School of Business Administration and Kanbar College,” Philadelphia University's Kanbar College Executive Dean Ron Kander said.
