Leading baritone conducts master class at Simpson College

Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, hosted a master class with leading baritone David Adam Moore in the Amy Robertson Music Center's Duncan Hall Friday.

The class was geared toward music majors and included performances from six students.

Moore has over 50 principal roles to his credit and has played in many venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Opera, Bunkamura in Tokyo and Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He has performed with the American Symphony Orchestra, New York City Opera, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, L.A. Philharmonic and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. His performances have been featured on various media outlets including NPR, Radio France and BBC.

“David Adam Moore is an exceptionally well-rounded artist who will inspire and inform our students,” assistant professor Bernard McDonald said. “I am thrilled to welcome him to campus.”

Moore teaches master classes throughout the nation for universities, opera companies, arts organizations and artist training programs.

Moore will star in multimedia staged production of Schubert's Winterreise for Des Moines Metro Opera from Jan. 29-31. He will be performing along with his production team GLMMR, an art and design collective that includes artists and performers across a variety of artistic fields.
