Mississippi State music department to hold first gala showcase

Mississippi State University's music department will hold its first gala tonight to showcase the musical talents of its students and faculty.

The event, which is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., will be held in the McComas Hall theater. The gala is open to the public and consists of talks as well as performances.

Summa cum laude music and mathematics graduate Davide J. Incognito-Fiasconello of Magee, Mississippi is among the alumni who will speak during the program. Jeffrey Rupp will serve as master of ceremonies.

Attire for the event is black-tie optional. All guests are invited to attend a reception following the program. Light hors d'oeuvres will be offered during the reception.

MSU's music department offers a bachelor's degree in four areas of music education, as well as a bachelor of arts in music.
