Mississippi State’s Riley Center, located in historic downtown Meridian, has announced a spring and summer series that will showcase a host of talented musicians.

“Putting together an entertainment series for our diverse community always takes a lot of work and planning,” Dennis Sankovich, executive director of the MSU Riley Center for Education & Performing Arts, said. “But we start with a big advantage: our gem of a theater. Our audiences delight in the elegant atmosphere and exceptional acoustics, and performers love to come here too, for the same reasons.”

The series will begin on March 10 when contemporary Christian artist Sandi Patty performs as part of her final major concert tour.

In April, Celtic Nights – a troupe of young singers, dancers, actors and musicians – will showcase a musical trip through the last century of Ireland.

LeAnn Rimes will bring country music to the Riley Center when she performs in June, and classic rock will light up the theater through the summer with Creedence Clearwater Revisited playing in May, Three Dog Night and Huey Lewis and the News playing in June, and Little River Band playing in August.

Every Riley Center series also includes something for the family, and this time Junie B. Jones from the children’s novels will showcase a musical “survival” guide to school.
