The State College of Florida at Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) District Board of Trustees revised employment contract rules at its meeting on Tuesday.

In regard to full-time faculty, the board has decided to implement the possibility of establishing positions without continuation clauses. This would allow both one-year and multi-year contracts to be established.

The board also states that SCF will not offer continuing contracts with new employees beginning in July of this year. This revision also stipulates that multi-year contracts will not surpass three years.

The board has also implemented that contracts and salary schedules for all college personnel will be submitted to the board by the college administration. These will be approved by the board and will required to have periods limited to appropriate scales of work, including typical nine-, 10- and 12-month contract options. Contracts will need to include position, length and salary information and any contract requires college presidential and board approval.

During this meeting the board welcomed Peter Logan as a new member and thanked former trustee, Charlene Neal for her work with the board during her tenure. The board also approved the remodeling of the college’s Nursing Simulation Lab along with approval for the Food Servery at SCF-Venice.
