West Virginia University has named Javier Reyes the dean of its College of Business and Economics.

Reyes will continue to serve in his current role as vice provost for distance education at the University of Arkansas through June 30, with his new position at West Virginia taking effect on July 1.

“We are happy for Dr. Reyes and congratulate him for being chosen for the position of dean of the College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University,” University of Arkansas Provost Ashok Saxena said. "During his time at the University of Arkansas, he has established himself as a highly accomplished professor and academic leader. He will definitely be missed."

Reyes began working for the University of Arkansas in 2003. He has served as an assistant professor in Walton College and then an associate dean for undergraduate studies and executive education at the Sam M. Walton College of Business.
