The University of Arkansas has formed a transition team to advise newly appointed Chancellor Joe Steinmetz on all things campus-related.

"I'm interested in learning what issues and opportunities may be present on all topics – from history and culture, communication and information, campus climate to values and aspirations of all campus quarters," Steinmetz said. "We invite members of the campus community to share their thoughts through a member of the transition team if they wish."

The nine members of the team are Student-Athlete Development Director Charles Small, Music Cognition Lab Director Elizabeth Hellmuth Margulis, Chancellor Steinmetz' Chief of Staff Laura Jacobs, Center for Multiculturalism and Diversity Education Director Leslie Yingling, student Lionel Davis, Chemistry Professor Lorraine Brewer, Associated Student Government President Tanner Bone, College of Education and Health Professions Dean Tom Smith, and Staff Senate Chair Trish Watkins.

The group will start off meeting once a month and will help Steinmetz obtain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the campus community.

Steinmetz is the sixth chancellor of the University of Arkansas. He previously served as executive vice president and provost at Ohio State University. Before that he held numerous roles at the University of Kansas and Indiana University.
