Santa Clara University’s School of Law and the Center for Global Law and Policy are hosting the “Global Justice for Women: Advancing Equality” symposium on Friday.
President and CEO of the Global Fund for Women Musimbi Kanyoro will be the keynote speaker. This symposium will be focused on economic equality, global safety for women globally and trafficking. The university states that Kanyoro is a leading advocate and speaker for human rights and women and girl’s health.
Panels will also focus on issues relating to immigration and measures that can be taken to act as an “agent of change.” These will also feature additional speakers that include professors and legal groups.
Kanyoro also serves with the United Nations High Level Taskforce for Reproductive Health, the U.N. Women Civil Society Advisory Board and the Aspen Leaders Council among other international groups. She has spoken about issues of violence and mutilation of women, technology access and issues relating to climate.
This symposium is set to take place between 8:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. at Bannan Hall. Attorneys that are seeking minimum continuing legal education credits will need to pay a $75 fee with their registration. Registration is required for all attendees.
