The University of Arkansas will offer a 13-week preparation course for a supply chain management certification exam beginning this March at its Global Campus in Rogers.

To put on the course, the Global Campus has partnered with the Northwest Arkansas Chapter of APICS – the leading professional association for supply chain and operations management.

“The APICS [Certified Supply Chain Professional] is well-respected within industry and an excellent credential,” John Kent, director of the Supply Chain Management Research Center for the Walton College of Business, said. “I recommend this CSCP Prep Course for anyone who desires continuing education in supply chain.”

The course seeks to help individuals develop or enhance skills in creating and executing global supply chain management strategies. These strategies should exist to help meet customer needs, reduce costs and increase profits.

“The Certified Supply Chain Professional designation is recognized worldwide as the standard of professional excellence,” Joan Smith, the instructor for the course, said. “It prepares students to streamline operations strategically and provides tools to manage global supply chain activities.”
