As a major online schools, American Intercontinental University (AIU) offers graduate and undergraduate programs through "distance learning" with an online platform.

New to its offerings this year are two Master of Education degree programs -- Specialization in Elementary and Secondary Education.

The new programs are designed for teachers and focus not only on teaching but professional skills required to enter into these specific educational landscapes and work with children in these age ranges.

Dr. Jeannette Jones, dean of education at AIU, says the program is created with the ability to move teachers forward in their education and goals in a way that they can pass on such success to their students.

Tailored to the specifications of CAEP/TEAC guidelines for accreditation, the new programs require that all students be experienced in the kindergarten through 12th-grade classroom so they can bring knowledge and skills with them to share. This creates a mutually beneficial environment for all students.

The online platform is flexible, so teachers can retain their jobs while completing the program, advancing their careers without losing ground. Students can also look forward to engaging in classes designed to teach approaches to today’s schools, including embracing diversity to reduce bullying on school campuses.
