Lonny Ashworth, Liljana Babinkostova and John Ziker have been honored with the Boise State University Foundation Scholar Award for their ongoing commitment, expertise and accomplishments.

The prestigious award recognizes the top educators and contributors at Boise State University.

Nominators described Ashworth as a role model for adult education who makes himself available at all times for his students. Babinkostova was nominated based on her tireless efforts in the Research Experiences for Undergraduates and the Boise State Student Research Initiatives. Ziker, a prolific and influential researcher in human behavioral ecology, has been published in at least eight professional journals and is recognized for the high quality of his research.

Each designated recipient receives $3,000 from the Foundation, and their names are added to the display that shows all winners since the inception of the scholarship in 1992. The display is located near the main staircase on the first floor of the Student Union Building on campus.

The scholarships are given by the Boise State University Foundation and Provost Martin Schimpf. The Foundation will honor these three winners in April at its annual board meeting.
