Boise State University, the Canyon County Historic Preservation Commission and several other organizations will be hosting a series of workshops from March 19-26.
The "2016 Alternative Spring Break" will be especially applicable to individuals who are interested in pre-history and history around Canyon County.
One of the workshops, "Climate Change and Cultural Heritage in the Snake River Plain," will take place on March 25 at 9 a.m. It will cover topics of climate change in relation to protection and preservation of rock art, which is highly relevant to Idaho.
On the last day of the series, "The Snake River: A Journey through History" workshop will study the cultural and natural history around the Snake River Canyon and Celebration Park.
All of the free workshops will be in the Crossroads Transportation Museum within Celebration Park. Registration is required, and attendees will enjoy a free lunch.
