Of over 14,000 submissions to the 36th Annual College & High School Photography Contest sponsored by Photographer's Forum Magazine, two of the 500 works selected are by
Cameron University
students.
Glory-Anne Dore and Sarah McNair will have their works judged by a panel of professional photographers and art instructors.
Dejan Mraovi,
Cameron University
assistant professor of art, congratulated the students, saying that being among the fewer than 5 percent of finalists selected from worldwide submissions is a significant achievement.
Dore, a senior art major, submitted a work entitled "Highway, Oklahoma," while McNair, a sophomore, submitted "Comanche Land." Both are landscapes and will be published in Best of College and High School Photography 2016.
The hardcover book will be distributed among professors of photography, graphic design and art, and be placed in university libraries. The works are also set to be exhibited in Ventura, California, at the Brooks Institute.
The May issue of Photographer's Forum Magazine will also feature all the finalists in the competition.
