Boise State staff and students invited to Broncos' scrimmage

Bryan Harsin, head football coach for Boise State University, has decided to show his thanks for the school's support of his team by opening a scrimmage during spring practice exclusively to faculty, staff and students.

The idea is to show appreciation and to help invigorate and encourage the team with the support of their fellow staff and student population at Boise State.

Last season, the Broncos finished with a 9-4 record, which included a 55-7 win over Northern Illinois in the Poinsettia Bowl. Harsin said the campus is a special place with many people making the Bronco program successful.

"This is our way of saying thanks," he said, adding that having a successful and winning team is an effort of the entire university.

The April 2 scrimmage will be the second of the spring. Students, faculty and staff will be admitted to the stadium free of charge on the west side, which will help to create an atmosphere similar to a season game. The scrimmage begins at 5:30 p.m., with pre-scrimmage drills starting at 5.
