Ashland University senior wins Kathryn Phillips Graduate Fellowship

Kristen Herrick, a student at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, received a Kathryn Phillips Graduate Fellowship for 2016-2017 on Monday from the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.

Herrick, a senior English major with a double minor in business administration and psychology, hails from Mansfield, Ohio, and was one of 24 students to receive a Phillips fellowship this year.

Herrick is the daughter of Shawn and Denisa Herrick, and after graduation from Madison Comprehensive High School in 2012, began attending Ashland University and was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta. Beyond Alpha Lambda Delta, Herrick is also in the Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society, presides over the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, has been on the dean's list every semester, has participated in Ashland University's Social Work Club and Ashland Commuter Eagles organization, and made a presentation at the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Symposium in 2015.

Upon graduation, Herrick plans to seek a graduate degree in higher-education administration.
