Evansville to hold Chutney Literary Conference

Students at the University of Evansville have the chance to win awards for their critical papers Friday and Saturday at the Chutney Literary Conference.

Guest speaker Matthew Bolton, head of the Upper Seven Hills School in Cincinnati, will highlight the conference that begins Friday at 7 p.m with the Melvin M. Peterson Literary Forum in Room 162 of the Schroeder School of Business.

Bolton, a graduate of the State University of New York, the Fordham University Graduate School of Education, and the City University of New York Graduate Center, has been published in the Ernest Hemingway and the Geography of Memory and The Waste Land, Critical Insight, Yeats Eliot Review, Dickens Quarterly and Victorian Studies. 

The recipient of the T.S. Eliot Society's Fathman Young Scholar Award will present "Eliot's iPod: Reading the Waste Land in the Information Age" on the opening night, and coordinate student panels Saturday at 9:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and noon.
