Lamar recognized for value of online graduate programs in education

The first annual Best Value ranking of top schools for online master of education programs by Top Masters in Education listed Lamar University at the top of 35 schools on the list.

Schools and programs were evaluated through publicly available information about accreditation, academic quality, student satisfaction rates, reputation and cost.

Lamar University’s College of Education and Human Development offers 10 programs plus additional concentrations on educational leadership, counseling and special populations. Programs average 36 credit hours and include supervised internships during study.

The College of Education and Human Development is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and offers a concise program of high academic excellence as well as low tuition compared to similar programs.

Hugo Saucedo, editor of the online guide published by Top Masters in Education, said the value of education is a huge factor in life.

“Often students leave college not only with a degree, but also saddled with a great deal of debt," he said.

The schools on the list are academically superior with superior value and opportunities for career advancement upon graduation. Saucedo determined the lowest-priced, highest-quality, regionally accredited residential masters of education programs.
