Lev Grossman, a senior writer for Time and a New York Times Bestselling author, will deliver Bradley University’s Robison Lecture today with a talk entitled “The Accidental Journalist: The highly unprofessional education of a professional writer.”

Grossman is a book critic and senior technology writer with Time, a capacity that has seen him interview public figures such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and J.K. Rowling. His “Accidental Journalist” lecture will cover some of his stories from working there and the lessons learned from them. He is also the author of the highly acclaimed Magicians trilogy, a popular fantasy series. The first book, “The Magicians,” will be available at the lecture, which will conclude with a reception and book signing.

The Robison Lecture, which is sponsored by Bradley University’s Department of Communication and the Intellectual and Cultural Activities Committee, began in 1988 in honor of journalist and educator Mary Leslie Robison, who taught at Bradley from 1957-68.

This year’s installment will take place in at the Hayden-Clark Alumni Center’s Peplow Pavilion, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The reception and book signing will move to the Hall of Pride. Both events are free and open to the public.
