Emporia State University has received a donation from Richard C. “Dick” Hawk, a 2015 Emporia State Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.
Hawk said he was able to become a Hornet in the 1950s when the university offered him a $100 scholarship, His donation will, in turn, be used to assist Emporia State students who have financial need.
Emporia State University was founded in 1863.
