Bridgewater College’s Department of Economics and Business recently announced a series of academic awards and scholarships recognizing the achievements of business administration students at all stages of their undergraduate education.
Seniors Terrence Chambers and Katie Rexrode were
honored for academic achievement and leadership with Outstanding Senior
Awards. Chambers plans to become a PBMares staff accountant upon graduation,
while Rexrode will be a co-manager of Kroger in Roanoke, Virginia.
The Robert Hueston Scholarship in
Accounting, which is awarded in honor of a former Bridgewater College faculty member
who taught from 1953-86, went to junior Jeffrey Strickland, who will receive $7,850.
Junior Nicholas Strider will receive a $2,710 scholarship from the David Will Endowed Scholarship Fund for Supporting Public Accounting. Junior Maria Hawkins won a $1,040 scholarship from the David and Margie Messick Smith Endowed Scholarship.
The department’s Business Plan Award winners were freshman Brandon Bush, junior Caine Collins, freshman Brooke Glockner, sophomore Malcolm Johnson, senior Zachary Lokey, sophomore Chris Mairson, junior Logan Nelson, sophomore Sydney Shull and freshman Lindsey Talley.
