Bridgewater names Ulrich Scholarship recipient

Bridgewater College has awarded Matthew Wampler the Dale Ulrich Physics Scholarship that honors a former college dean. 

Based on academic merit, the $1,070 scholarship is given on an annual basis to a junior in the physics department.

Wampler is a mathematics and physics double major who is minoring in music. Wampler is a member of Bridgewater’s scholastic honor society, the Philomathes Society, the national scholastic honor society, Alpha Chi, the national physics honor society, Sigma Pi Sigma, and the national leadership honor society, Omicron Delta Kappa. He also belongs to the Flory Honors Program at Bridgewater, the Society of Physics Students, the American Physics Society, the American Astronomical Society and the Association for Computing Machinery.

At Bridgewater, Wampler has worked as a tutor in both math and physics and still holds sessions for other students to help them in math and physics.
