The University of Arkansas sent two teams of students to compete in this year’s Gen. Donald R. Keith Memorial Capstone Conference, both of which won honors for their performances.

The conference, which consisted of more than 60 teams, is held annually to bring engineering students from across the nation together at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York, to test their skills against the best undergraduate system engineers in the country.

Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management and Operations Research are the four applied research methods included in the student-focused forum.

Tyler Beneke, Tori McDaniel, Alexa Koenigseder and Lacey Burnett, all seniors at Arkansas, won first place in the Process Modeling and Analysis track at the conference.

Zach Watts, Michael Herm, Curtis Casey and Blake McMillon made up the second team for Arkansas, and won second place in the Systems Optimization track.
