The University of New Orleans St. Claude Gallery has a summer group exhibition planned that will be comprised of works of art from students enrolled in the Fine Arts program at UNO.

The exhibition has been given the title “Presences” and will be curated by Kathy Rodriguez, the instructor and gallery manger/director. Each piece placed on display at the show will revolve around the title, bring a variety of interpretations, such as mindfulness or “being present,” absence, ephemera, ghosts, the indexical sign and the presence of the art object or subject matter. The works of art will be made across a variety of media and incorporate figuration.

The artists that will have works on display are Martin Benson, Karie Cooper, Dana DeNoux, Harper Hair, Tyler P. Haney, Dane Hansen, Ashley Hope, Brent Houzenga, Erika Lehrmann, Holli Nunn, Sarah Oestriecher, Ruth Owens, Paul Richey, Same Stolte and Natalie Woodlock.

The opening reception for the gallery will be held on June 11 from 6-9 p.m. The exhibition will end Aug. 7.
