Nine North Central faculty members granted tenure

The North Central College Board of Trustees granted tenure and approved promotions at its meeting in May.

The faculty members awarded these honors include Martha Bohrer, Ph.D., who was promoted to professor of English; Suzanne Chod, Ph.D., who was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of political science; Kristin Geraty, Ph.D., who was promoted to professor of religious studies; Katherine Heller, Ph.D., who was given tenure and promoted to associate professor of mathematics; Jeff Jankowski, Ph.D., who was promoted to professor of chemistry; Jonathan Kirk, Ph.D., who earned tenure and was promoted to associated professor of music; Neil Nicholson, Ph.D., who was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of mathematics; Mary Beth Ressler, Ph.D., who received tenure and was promoted to associated professor of education; and John Stanley, who was given a promotion to associate professor of communication.

Sara Eaton, Ph.D., professor of English, and Timothy Morris, Ph.D., professor of philosophy, were both approved for emerita status by the board. They will be awarded at the university’s commencement on June 11.

The tenure and promotions received by the faulty members will become effective this fall.
